Mach17th -18th 2012, marked the first IRONWILL FOOTBALL Performance Camp of the year. The focus of the camp was to refined and develop football fundamentals, positional skills and improve overall football intelligence.

This year our camp changed as there was more positional skill and more teaching sessions incorporated into the program. As a former football player, the better understanding you have about your position the better the performance on the field.

The coaches were impressed with the leadership as previous campers knew what the coaches expected and stepped up to the plate and were positive leaders all camp. This really made the atmosphere pleasant as the first years athletes followed there lead. It was very exciting seeing the how all the athletes paid attention to detail in all the drills. Paying attention to small details is what coaches need from there athletes in order to be victorious on the field.

The overall effort by all the athletes in attendance was outstanding. All athletes came to camp prepared to work day on one, day two all athletes raised there level of intensity. Champions are made by demanding more from themselves each and every practice. The coaches could not have asked for more out of the athletes.

Tremendous job done by the behind the scene staff, volunteer and coaches over the weekend.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the near future. Stay committed to developing good habits and keep putting in the hard work. Your hard work and dedication will pay off on the football field. Perfecting your football fundamentals skills and positional technique will separate you from the rest.

Nothing is given in football, everything is earned.

I am pleased to announce that the IRONWILL Football Linemen Academy winter session was a success. The purpose of the linemen academy is to develop and teach the fundamental skills on the offensive and defensive line.

Football games are won on the line of scrimmage, the team that has the most skilled and dominate line play will have the highest success rate.

The athletes came away from the linemen academy with new insight of the position and the knowledge on how to play their respective position.

I was very pleased with the improvement and the increased effort from all the athletes from week one to week five. It was great to see the athletes apply the skill they have learned in the live contact drills.

Great job linemen I look forward to everyone in action on the football field.

Special thanks to guest coach Darren Gangon for his efforts with working with the athletes, you did a great job!

August 13th-14th, marked the first IronWill Football Performance Camp in Wainwright, Alberta and the last summer camp of 2011. This camp was more of a football training camp style as the following week; the Wainwright Commandos will be opening up there fall training camp.

We started off the camp with non contact drills and conditioning and the afternoon session was dedicated physical contact and more game specific drills. The morning drills were exciting to watch, the athletes executed the drills with speed and paid attention to the details of each drill.

During the individual periods there we saw major improvement from the linemen group. Their stances, getting off the ball and hand placement was great. As the linemen continue to improve on their skills during the season the line play will improve greatly for their teams.

There was good feedback from Coach Woodley and Coach Glavic about the skills group. They were impressed with the level of play by all campers.

All of the athletes in attendance battled through the heat and made great strides to improve their football skills. It goes to show that hard work will always pay off.

IronWIll Football hosted their first ever camp in Sylvan Lake! We were very pleased to see many new faces to the IronWill Football program.

Our morning sessions started off with non contact football skills along with lots of conditioning. We then followed up with an afternoon of full contact drills. During the afternoon session, the IronWill coaches were very impressed with the campers. Their tackling abilities along with their speed of execution during our contact drills was awesome. A high level off intensity was demanded of each athlete and everyone stepped up to the challenge and came ready to work hard.

This past weekend we also witnessed plenty of young talent . It is always great to see new athletes being introduced to the game. As coaches, it allows us to set up a solid fundamental football base among the younger athletes.

Overall the camp was very successful, a lot of work was accomplished and all of the athletes should be proud of their efforts.

The Lloydminster camp was a success! Right off the bat, all the athletes that came to camp had their hard hats on and were prepared to work hard!  From the morning warm ups, right through to the hitting drills, the athletes were performing at a high level.

The coaches were impressed with the skills and the football IQ of the younger athletes as well how well they paid attention to the smaller details.  We also saw great work with the linemen. During their contact drills we saw lots of intensity followed up with great technique!! The coaches could not stress enough  that to be great in this sport ,you have to stay true to technique and form!

The High School athletes showed great leadership during the camp! A lot of work on individual skills work was accomplished over the weekend.

Overall this camp is one the most enthusiastic camps of the year.  All of the athletes stayed positive and maintained an up beat mentality throughout the camp.

Great job to the athletes and to The IronWill Football Staff.  We look forward to seeing everyone next year, as we have phase two of the IronWill Football Performance Camps.
